Your new winter boredom buster
Winter is a time of promise because there is so little to do — or because you can now and then permit yourself the luxury of thinking so. — Stanley Crawford
Well, here we are, the actual first day of winter.
Our impudent backyard trees finally dropped their leaves and started making it look wintery just a few days ago.
I didn’t grow up in the south, so I’m used to seeing the trees bare well before winter arrives. It was looking downright unnatural here for a long time.
People are often looking for things to do inside when the weather turns cold. There are certainly lots of good things you can take up, like various handicrafts, reading, or drinking hot chocolate by the gallon (maybe not so good).
One other activity I would like to bring to your attention is beginning a letter writing habit.
Just take some of that extra time you now have on your hands and devote it to writing short notes to others.
Then, by the time spring rolls around or whenever your state thaws out, you’ll already have trained yourself to be an avid letter writer without having to “find the time” around so many other appointments.
And it won’t be an easily broken New Year’s Resolootion. It’ll be your winter boredom buster that happens to be useful all year round.
It’ll make your friends happy which in turn will make you happy. If you really want to tickle the happiness gland further, try sending some cards from the link below:

As you probably already now, giving great cards makes you happy as well.
