Why you should not type your letters

It would be easier and faster. And it would save you face over your handwriting if it bothers you. But it’s still a cop-out.

Look at all the junk mail you receive. All of it is typed with a few fake “handwritten” fonts and scribbles masquerading as signatures sprinkled in. The envelopes are typed also, and some have plastic windows on the front.

Why would you want your personal correspondence to look like junk mail?

Your recipient has been subconsciously trained by junk mail not to take printed letters very seriously. People instinctively pay more attention to real handwriting because only a real person living in a real place could have written it.

Real people fascinate. A dubious person tapping a keyboard gets tossed in the trash can.
