Why I Don’t Write Sentiments Inside My Cards
“ Why are all these cards blank inside?”
I’m sure that question has probably flitted across your mind as you’ve browsed my website.
My reason for this is simple. I don’t know your friends, family, and coworkers like you do. You know the words and phrases that are apt to bring a smile to their faces when they read them.
I cannot match that unique, personal knowledge of your’s. That is why I believe it is best for you to write the inside sentiments yourself.
Now, if you are beginning to bellyache about how you’re not a poet and can never think of anything touching to say, etc., let me tell you this.
Some of the most touching and powerful notes I have ever received where written in one or two brief sentences of prose. Those notes were powerful because they came from the heart and were sincere.
You don’t need to be poetic or fancy-shmancy to write a good card sentiment. You need only be sincere.
I’m not a poet myself. Yet knowing what I love about the people in my life and knowing what they love is all I ever need to write decent sentiments.
It’s all you need, too.
So, when your stumped as to what to write in a card, just remember these three things:
- What do I love about this person?
- What are the words and phrases I know they would love to hear?
- Be sincere.
Alright. That’s all I have for today. I hope this post strengthens that trembling index finger of your’s to click the link below and order some blank greeting cards without fear:
