It’s easy to locate all kinds of book clubs online. These clubs meet virtually, online, or have dedicated discussion forums.
It appears less common for book club members to communicate via letters. But letters and books go hand in hand. Some books that are considered classics today were either birthed through or mulled over in handwritten letters. It seems only proper that books be discussed by the same medium.
Writing down your thoughts and favorite quotes allows you to reflect more and ingrain them in your head. You force yourself to work through the reasons you like or dislike a book instead of settling for,”I don’t know. I just like/don’t like it.”
You don’t have to be a member of a book club to do this, either. You can write the letters for yourself as future reference. If you love letters and you love books there is no reason why the two need be kept separate. Increase your enjoyment of both and reap the benefits.
