Become a card message writing genius in five minutes or less with this tip
Yesterday I wrote to you about sharing quotes inside your greeting cards.
Today I want to demonstrate quote springing.
What I mean is, entering into the spirit of a quote and then writing something original based on the quote. You will be using quotes as a springboard for your own unique messages.
Take this example. I like this quote from Elbert Hubbard: “Your friend is the man who knows all about you, and still likes you.”
If the person to whom I am writing is a Christian who is feeling down on themselves I might use this quote as a springboard to Jesus Christ.
I would remind my discouraged friend that Jesus is their best Friend Who knows about all the mistakes they are so hung up on and yet He still loves and excepts them fully as His brother or sister.
Or I could write something like this: “The truest and best friends are the ones who can see our strengths and weaknesses alike and continue to be our friends anyway. You are that kind of friend to me,_____. Thank you for all the hugs, encouragement, and patience you’ve had with me during these last two weeks.”
See how easy that is? All you need is a good stack of quotes and some imagination and you’ll be in quick, unique card messages for months.
