Discover all the letters your journal can write for you
A year ago I discovered the benefits of journaling, in my own way. I don’t write every single day or even every week.
Rather, I use my journal as a place in which I can untangle thorny questions, dreams, and arguments. I suppose you might say my journal is more of a brain dump than a diary.
Wrestling with ideas on paper allows me to organize my thoughts. It also saves me from the mental fatigue that often comes from trying to store everything you think about in your head.
However, I am aware this is not the use everyone has for their journals. Some do record their daily or weekly activities and may be more faithful in recording their thoughts and dreams than I am.
If you are one of these journal keepers, I would like to point out that you have in your possession a mine field of inspiration for your letters.
Simply choose your most recent entries (or older ones if they are still relevant), edit them if need be, and then share them in writing.
This is a quick way to get a letter written when pressed for time or when your letter writing mojo is at a low ebb.
If you don’t journal you can keep a small notebook for the purpose of jotting down thoughts and occurrences you think will be worth mentioning in your next letter.
Once you discover all the letters your journal can write for you, the only problem you should have remaining is keeping enough stationery on hand to write on.
That’s why I keep my cards stocked for you. You can get those chatty letters of your’s written and in the mailbox quickly after a visit to the link below:
