Hey there! I’m Grace Arant.

I am a card maker who enjoys creating (and giving) simple yet impactful cards. I live in Louisiana with my family.

In my shop I sell a growing collection of greeting cards I make entirely by hand using high quality papers, inks, and a variety of techniques I’ve learned over the years and continue to expand on.

I also maintain a blog which is an archive of the emails I send daily to my subscribers. In my emails I share my thoughts and stories about cultivating a habit of real, physical communication in the world of text messages and social media posts.

Not all of my emails are posted publicly, however, as some emails include promotions that are exclusive to my subscribers. If you don’t want to miss a single post or you want in on the sales and other special promotions available only to subscribers, just click the button below to join my daily email list. You will receive a $5 gift code as a thank-you.

Why Handmade Cards?

To me, handmade greeting cards are mailable art pieces. They are simple, pretty gifts that can be given at any time, for any reason.

I realize, however, not everyone who admires handmade greeting cards and wishes to give them to their loved ones has the time to make their own cards. Not everyone has a family member who can make cards for them, either.

If you desire to have a handmade touch on the cards you send, I have good news for you.

I’m the person you can “adopt” to be the card making family member. I want to give you the privilege of giving beautiful, unique, handmade cards to your loved ones. I want to give you the opportunity to make your friends and family feel extra special when they read your heartwarming messages inside handmade cards.

How I Got Started

I’ve always loved greeting cards. I treated each card I received as a child like a gift in itself and saved each one for as long as my storage box would hold them and remain shut. I still have some of those childhood cards today!

As I got older and learned to write, I began swapping short notes with my mother. Those notes evolved later into long letters to my grandparents.

I grew up being homeschooled and having my creative impulses fed on a wide variety of crafts, many of which involved paper. One of the crafting tools I was introduced to was rubber stamps.

For some years I used stamps occasionally to decorate bookmarks or as a boredom buster on a sheet of typing paper.

At age thirteen, however, I discovered how people made cards using rubber stamps. I rapidly became hooked as I explored, experimented, and acquired new supplies. I began sending my grandparents letters tucked inside the cards I made.

I quickly moved on to making all the birthday cards, thank you cards, and even Christmas cards for my family. I was surprised yet elated by the praise my creative efforts received. I heard, “You should open a shop!” on more than one occasion.

The encouragements of family and family friends, combined with my own realization that I’m capable of producing more cards than I can send alone, are my inspiration for this business.

My hope is that you, too, will benefit from my creative energies and find cards you enjoy giving just as much as your loved ones will enjoy receiving them.

To your card giving,

Grace Arant
